How To Find Us

Started in 1988, PlatteCon was the first gaming convention in Southwest Wisconsin.  The members of the Platteville Gaming Convention felt a need for a local convention due to the absence of any other conventions in the area.  The facilities available at the UW-Platteville campus provided plenty of space for the group to hold the first PlatteCon, and have allowed the Con to continue to grow over the past 20 years.  Further, the Con has grown with the University and recently moved into the new and accommodating Pioneer Student Center.

The first PlatteCon set a precedent with its name, PlatteCon Alpha.  The organizers wanted a departure from the traditional numbering system for conventions, and opted to follow the Greek alphabet instead.  Thus, we've had such memorable events as PlatteCon Mu (the Con of Cowthulhu), PlatteCon Nu (Con of the Dragon), and last year's tasty treat, PlatteCon Tau (Con of Magic).

This year, the Platteville Gaming Association is celebrating out 20th annual PlatteCon!  With such a monumental event, we couldn't help but go with the "natural 20," or ultimate success roll, for our convention theme this year.  So, bust out those 20-sided die and get ready for some amazing gameplay action!
